The history behind the writing of the song “One
Moore Catch” started when Robert Gomes called
his old song writing partner from years ago Mark
Crigler and told him that he was doing a fishing
show with Dave Moore but the show needed music.
Mark agreed to work on the project with Robert.
The song was written about a football player
that had retired and is now fishing. Robert and
Mark sat down together on a Wednesday night and
in about 3 hours they took the idea and turned
it into a song. The next night they put their
final touches on the song. That same night they
called an old friend, Mark Thornton, who plays
guitar for Jerry Reed and owns Sidekick Sound
recording studios in Nashville TN. Robert and
Mark booked the studio for September 4-6 to
record the song. Mark flew to Nashville while
Robert was filming more of the show in Tampa.
Mark recorded the song with some of the top
studio musicians in Nashville and the project
turned out great. There are four different
versions of One Moore catch from rock to blue
grass with plans of a video. Robert and Mark at
this time are writing more songs for the show
and putting together a CD. They hope you all
like the music.
Thanks
Robert Gomes
